Pope Tawadros II on B Pakhomious during the ordination: "“The monk Hegumen Ghobreyal Al-Muharraqi is a monk from the Monastery of the Virgin Mary (Al-Muharraq) in Assiut. He has been a monk for 38 years and has been chosen to be the Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Macarious of Alexandria at Mount Al-Qalali. He has served as a father of confession to many monks and bishops and is well known as a monastic man who loves and reveres the monastic life — qualities well suited to the responsibility of this monastery, which was founded by the Thrice-Blessed Metropolitan Pakhomious. Therefore, his bishop name was chosen to be H.G. Bishop Pakhomious.”
